Helly-Hansen was created in 1877 to manufacture professional-grade oilskin clothing that could protect sailors and fishermen against the punishingly wet and cold weather of the Norwegian sea. But the value of the clothing was quickly understood and valued for other purposes too: on worksites and in the mountains. The brand’s commitment to manufacture apparel that can withstand the same difficult conditions remains the same. The founder’s original oilskins were innovative designs; the brand’s commitment to pioneering designs and materials has remained steadfast ever since. Their Lifa technology with moisture-wicking revolutionized technical baselayers; and their waterproof -- and yet breathable -- fabrics have been the envy of the industry. Their innovative solutions in materials and design continue to receive recognition and awards, even in the most demanding industries, like mountaineering. Today, the brand is number one at ski resorts, found in over 200, and worn by more than fifty thousand ski professionals. We at Outdoor Equipped are pleased to offer a wide selection of Helly-Hansen sportswear.
