Five Ten, founded in 1985, was named after a Yosemite Park rating for one of the sheerest, most difficult rock climbs, requiring as much technological assistance as possible, never mind the climber’s total focus and skill. Five Ten began with the development of a rock climbing shoe called the “Five tennie” that featured “Stealth Rubber,” which provided increased grip. By the ‘90s, Stealth Rubber became the standard for high-performance, tacky, high-friction soles on rock climbing shoes. Learning that Stealth Rubber’s sure grip had become popular in mountain biking’s world cup racing as well, Five Ten began making flat pedal and a variety of cleat-compatible shoes. In 2011, Five Ten was purchased by adidas, becoming a part of its outdoor division. Since then, adidas has lent its world-renowned technological and materials innovations to the brand. We at Outdoor Equipped are pleased to offer a wide range of adidas Five Ten climbing and biking shoes.
