Willie McCovey was one of the most feared hitters of his era. During his twenty-two years in the majors-which spanned four different decades-Stretch scored 2,211 hits, 521 home runs, and 1,555 RBIs. McCovey was also a six-time All-Star, a National League Rookie of the Year, a National League MVP, and a three-time National League home run champion. Thanks to his skills as a hitter and as a first baseman, he entered the Hall of Fame in 1986.
